Oilers Look to Rebound in Mile High City

After a dismal performance last night in Minnesota, the Oilers find themselves in the Colorado to face the falling Avalanche.

Against the Wild, the Oilers struggled to find the back of the net during multiple power-play opportunities (10 actually).  Their efforts were so poor that the club could only muster 5 shots on goal.  What most disappointing, is the that Oil, couldn't capitalize on a on a 5-3 opportunity which nipped them in the bud immediately afterwards, when Bouchard put the game out of reach with his spin-o'-rama.

"When you have a five-on-three, you have to get traffic in front of the net so at least it makes you feel as though it’s a good idea to shoot,” said Oilers head coach Tom Renney. “Having said that, we kind of disintegrated in the third period and I didn’t like the looks of that.”

After arriving late in Colorado, it is not known yet if the Oilers took a pass on the morning skate.  With that being said, there is no information as to who Tom Renney will dress at this time.  It is speculated that Khabibulin will find the blue paint to look for redemption after the 4-1 loss.

After coming out strong at the beginning of the season, the Avs find themselves 1 game over .500 with a record of 26-27-1.  In their last 10 games, the club has 1 win and 8 losses; however, this season the Avalanche have shut out the Oilers twice at the Pepsi Centre.  Moreover, the squad will come in with some momentum after snapping a 10 game losing drought by defeating the Blues 4-3.
.
The Oilers will conclude their 2 game road trip and will head back to Edmonton to face the St Louis Blues on Friday.
