Oilers trade Penner to LA...Shawn Belle for Montgomery.

Just under an hour ago, Dustin Penner was traded to the LA Kings for Colten Teubert, a first round pick for 2011, and a conditional third rounder for 2012.
"The conditional third-round pick could become a second-round selection should the Kings make the playoffs." according to TSN Website.)


Penner leaves the club after serving 4 years in Edmonton and was third in scoring with 39 points.
In return the Oilers acquire, Colten Teubert who was selected in the 2008 Entry Draft and went 13th overall to the LA Kings.  He is a native of White Rock BC, and is a  6'4" 194 pound defenceman.
Earlier in the day the Oilers also made a minor trade. Defenceman, Shawn Belle has been sent to Colorado in exchange for another defenceman in Kevin Montgomery.
Montgomery is 22, he is 6'2" 190 and hails from Rochester NY.  He was picked in the 2006 Entry Draft by the Colorado Avalanche in the 4th round.
The Edmonton Oilers have been looking to add some more depth on the back-end and may have found the much need help with todays acquisitions.
Both, Teubert and Montgomery, have yet to see some NHL playing time and it is speculated that the newest Oilers will report to the Oklahoma Barons in the coming days.
Ales Hemsky, Andrew Cogliao and Ladislav Smid were all thought to be traded, but according TSN the Oilers have finished making moves on D-Day.
